Social Media Amplification Strategy
London, UK
2022
An independent art curator specialising in Indian art and feminist artwork needed to establish topical authority to connect with artists and collectors. We built a strategic social media presence combining content strategy, keyword optimisation, and targeted engagement to position her as a credible voice in her niche. The result: increased visibility, stronger follower engagement, and a platform for promoting curated exhibitions and artist sales.
Summary
This project illustrates how authority is built systematically, not accidentally. By combining strategic content focus, keyword optimisation, and active community engagement, we created perceived expertise that opened doors to artist relationships and exhibition opportunities. The curator moved from unknown independent to recognised voice in Indian and feminist art spaces, not through credentials, but through demonstrated knowledge and consistent presence. Authority follows strategy, not just passion.
Challenge
The art world operates on perceived authority. Without gallery backing or institutional credentials, independent curators face a credibility gap when reaching out to artists or attracting collectors. Social media presence alone isn't enough. She needed to demonstrate consistent, informed perspective that positioned her as a genuine expert rather than an enthusiast.
The reality: artists and collectors assess curatorial credibility through content quality and engagement depth. Generic art appreciation posts signal casual interest; strategic, focused content signals expertise worth following.
Solutions
We built a systematic content strategy designed to establish topical authority in two intersecting niches: Indian contemporary art and feminist artistic expression. Rather than broad "art content," we created highly specific pieces that demonstrated deep knowledge of artists, movements, and thematic concerns.
The keyword strategy focused on terms and phrases that Indian artists and feminist art collectors actually search for connecting her content to active discovery rather than passive scrolling. We optimised each post for discoverability whilst maintaining authentic curatorial voice.
Engagement wasn't passive. We actively participated in relevant conversations, building relationships with artists, galleries, and collectors through thoughtful comments and shares. This created network effects where her authority was reinforced through community recognition.
Strategic paid promotion amplified high-performing content to targeted audiences - people already interested in Indian art or feminist artwork, accelerating follower growth amongst genuinely relevant audiences rather than vanity metrics.
