Real stories from real founders
doing it.
A podcast that gives a voice to solopreneurs and small business owners, exploring the many different paths to building something successful.
The small business podcast for people actually building businesses
Through my businesses, I talk to small business owners almost every day. And I kept noticing something.
Everyone has an incredible story. But most of those stories never get told.
From the founder who started with £500 and now does £50K annually to the solopreneur who "failed" twice before the third attempt clicked, or the business owner who found a completely unexpected path to success, their stories show there's no single "right" way to build a business. They prove that success looks different for everyone.
So I created this podcast to give those founders a voice.
If you're building something, or thinking about it, I hope these conversations inspire and guide you.
Welcome to Founders at Work: Small Business Stories

Each episode, I sit down with a founder to explore:
-
How they actually got started (the real story, not the polished version)
-
The moment they decided to take the leap and what scared them most
-
What they tried that didn't work
-
The turning point when things started clicking
-
What they wish someone had told them on day one
-
to someone starting todayThe advice they'd actually give
Just real conversations about what it takes to build a business from the ground up.

About your host
I run 2 businesses in London: hihouse Inventory, a premium property inventory service, and Digital Adventurer, a marketing consultancy for small businesses.
Over the past 5 years, I've completed thousands of property inspections, worked with many small business owners, and seen firsthand what it really takes to build something sustainable.
I started this podcast because I kept hearing incredible founder stories that I wand to share to help and inspire so many others. There're the business stories of solopreneurs who've built their own businesses often in ways I'd never have thought of.
If you're building something or thinking about it, I hope these conversations will help you on your journey.
